Soms wil je meerdere speakers op één apparaat aansluiten. Hoe kan dat handig?

Het kan handig zijn om meerdere speakers op één apparaat aan te sluiten. Je hebt bijvoorbeeld muziek op je telefoon staan en wilt dat horen in meerdere kamers. Of je wilt gewoon wat meer geluid produceren door meerdere speakers in gebruik te nemen. Het zou dan handig zijn als je aan één apparaat (smartphone, tablet of laptop) meerdere Bluetooth speakers kan aansluiten. Je kan natuurlijk een Sonos setje nemen of andere multiroom speakers aanschaffen. Maar als je een paar Bluetooth speakers in huis hebt, zijn er ook andere handige mogelijkheden.

Bluetooth is ontworpen als een apparaat naar apparaat verbinding. Dus standaard kun je niet meer dan één speaker koppelen. Bluetooth 5 ondersteunt meer bandbreedte waardoor dual audio mogelijk is. Uiteraard moet je apparaat dat wel ondersteunen. Nieuwere telefoons zoals de Samsung S8 hebben een zogenaamde ‘dual audio’ functie waardoor je twee Bluetooth speakers eenvoudig kan gebruiken (zie deze handige instructie).

Meerdere Bluetooth speakers tegelijk

Heeft jouw smartphone geen Bluetooth 5 en wil je toch een feestje bouwen? Dan is de app AmpMe erg handig. Installeer deze app’s op meerdere telefoons (Android en/of iPhone). Elke telefoon verbind nog steeds alleen met zijn eigen Bluetooth speaker. Maar door AmpMe wordt het geluid toch met elkaar gesynchroniseerd zodat je toch een stuk meer ‘herrie’ produceert.

Op de MacBook kun je ook meerdere Bluetooth speakers gebruiken. Hier een Engelse instructie van deze handige website:

• On the MAC Turn on bluetooth and pair and connect to each speaker you want to use. Once all are connected open the Audio Midi Setup app found in the Utilities folder in the App directory.
• In the lower left corner click on the ‘+’ and create a Multi-output device.
• Your connected bluetooth devices should be listed. Tick each one that you want to use.
• Open System Preferences, click on Sound (the speaker icon) and choose the Multi-output device.
• Open iTunes and play your tunes.
• The MAC will output to all connected bluetooth speakers. If you want to play with volumes, left/right output volumes, mute etc then go back to the Audio Midi Setup app and click on the little triangle to the left of your Multi Output Device description and a drop-down will open showing the controls for each device. You can type in volume percent value or dB in the boxes or tick/untick boxes to mute the speaker or left/right channels.

Voor een paar tientjes kun Airfoil aanschaffen (Windows en Mac). Deze software maakt het mogelijk om muziek van je laptop te streamen naar meerdere speakers verbonden via o.a. Bluetooth.

Een ingewikkelde workaround is mogelijk met het gratis programma Syncplay (bron: deze handige website):

1. Install free software ‘SyncPlay‘ in the Laptop.
2.  Run 2 instances of Syncplay one as Server and other as client with both attached to VLC Player.
3.  Set the audio-device of Server-VLC to BT-Headpone/Speaker-1 and audio-device of Client-VLC to to BT-Headpone/Speaker-2. [using VLC Menu->Audio->Audio Device]
4. Make client-vlc minimized,
5. Set the Audio Path directories in both the Sync Player to same Folder location. [Using SyncPlay Menu File->Set Media Directories]
6. Play audio/Video on the Server-VLC, and Control the Client-VLC using the Client-Syncplay. If you are watching Video remember to set the Video_track of Client-vlc as disabled, Viola.. u are through. Sometimes you need to sync the client-audio just by moving the slider control of the server-vlc. You can add more than 2 bluetooth speakers/headphones with this solution, just need to add number of syncplay clients and set the respective audio-device in the vlc instances.

Je kan ook een zogenaamde Bluetooth transmitter met splitter functie (affiliate link) aanschaffen. Je sluit dan je smartphone, tablet of laptop met een audio kabeltje aan op deze transmitter. De transmitter is in staat zich te koppelen aan twee Bluetooth speakers zodat je eenvoudig het geluid via deze twee speakers kan afspelen. Deze transmitters ondersteunen namelijk Bluetooth multipoint én zijn in staat geluid te streamen naar twee apparaten. Hierdoor kan het fungeren als een soort splitter waardoor je het geluid kan afspelen via twee Bluetooth speakers.

Om meerdere Bluetooth speakers tegelijk te gebruiken, hoef je echt niet de nieuwste apparatuur te hebben. Er zijn genoeg eenvoudige oplossingen om twee Bluetooth speakers tegelijk te gebruiken. Veel plezier met je Bluetooth speakers.
